This week in AP Lit. we are somewhat tying up all the loose ends as we approach the end of the first trimester and prepare for exams. Mostly, we have just been working on getting all of our assignments updated and finished for grades next week, and we've been spending some time working on our tragedy essays and creative writing essays. For the most part, I am caught up. All of my blog posts are up to date and I am now currently working on updating both my tragedy and creative writing essays. At the same time, I have been jotting down notes in order to better prepare myself for the exam next Wednesday. I have also been kind of structuring somewhat of an outline for my Free Response essay on my SSR book, A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, as well as reviewing my reflective blogs in preparation for the reflection essay.
The other thing I have been working on as I finish more and more work is updating my site with all of the previous marking period's work. As I update my website, I kind of get to re-evaluate and revisit my work from the beginning of the marking period which is somewhat enlightening and cool. I have been able to really see how I have grown as a writer, and take pride in the great amounts of essays and work that I have completed just in the past six weeks! Being able to make these observations are really important considering they will make writing my reflective essay a lot easier than I anticipated it would be.
This week, I also am really impressed with how my classmates and AP Lit. friends have handled not having our teacher around. Obviously, our assignments are going to get graded, and as a whole I feel as if we started to become significantly more patient the last week and more understanding of Mr. Schoenborn's situation. Having to take care of a newborn baby is NOT easy by any means, and I think for the most part, my class has been pretty understanding. I also feel as if our substitute did a very good job of keeping us on task and aware of what was due and when!
